David William Phillips, Sr., 65, of Hawthorne, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his home from natural causes. He was a native of Cleveland, OH and had lived in Hawthorne for the past 8 years coming from East Hickory, PA. He graduated in the class of 1971 from James Ford Rhodes High School. He had worked for Con Rail for 15 years. David was a member of the Allegheny Indian Council and Cultural Center, Inc., Florida Cannabis Action Network (FLCAN) and a 28-year member of the 12 Step Community. His goal in life was to make people smile and laugh. Those that knew David knew that his goal was achieved.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lisa Phillips of Hawthorne, children, William Phillips, David Phillips, Jr., and Katherine and Colleen Phillips all of Cleveland, OH, Jason Phillips of Sarasota,FL, and Christina Schrader of South Fork, PA, siblings, Sheree Phillips of Cleveland, OH, Allan Phillips of Oklahoma City, OK and Shannon Haywood (Robert) of Brunswick, OH, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held in Cleveland, OH and memorial services will be held in Gainesville, FL at a later date.
