Anita “Jean” Doss-Loveday, 81, of Hollister, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Winfield, Alabama, her family moved to Battle Creek Michigan where she was a 1959 graduate of Battle Creek High School. Jean then met her husband and they lived in Jacksonville from 1962-2002 where she raised her children. Jean worked as a merchandiser with Pic-N-Save in Jacksonville for over 30 years. Upon retirement, moving to Satsuma and then to Hollister for the last 12 years. In her leisure time, Jean enjoyed spending time with her family the most,growing vegetables in her garden, cooking, and caring for her plants and flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Doss and Eula Mae Cantrell-Doss. Jean is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bobby Loveday of Hollister, a daughter, Brenda Whitaker (Gil) of Ponte Vedra, a son, Timothy “Scott” Loveday (Angelique) of Jacksonville, her brother, Charles Doss of Battle Creek, MI. 2 grandchildren, Nicholas Loveday and Jennifer Rowley (Doug), 2 great-grandchildren, Lily Rowley and Brody Rowley all of Jacksonville. Numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws and many extended family. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held with the family at a later date.
