Betty Sue Collins, 66, of Satsuma, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Kindred Hospital – North Florida following an extended illness. Born in Metter, Georgia, she resided in Putnam County most of her life coming here from Georgia. Betty worked several places over the years including at Grubber Screw Factory in Orlando, as a baker at Mister Doughnut in Palatka and as owner and operator of Betty Collins Discount Store. She was a member of Moose Lodge #1641 in Crescent City and in her leisure enjoyed playing BINGO, casinos and collecting hummingbirds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Collins, her parents, S.L. Collins and Ruby Collins Mullins, a son, James Hill and a brother, Donnie Joe Collins.
Betty is survived by a son, Adam Hill (Kristi) of East Palatka, a daughter, Sherry Buchanan (Corey Sanchez) of Jacksonville, 2 sisters, Joann Wagner and Patsy Moore, both of Palatka, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin with Pastor Michael Sapp officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
