Obituary for Brenda J. Boynton
Brenda J. Boynton, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital. Brenda was predeceased by her husband, John Boynton and parents, Clarice and C.J. Hardage.
Brenda was born in Nuremberg, Germany on a military base. She was a long-time resident of Putnam County, FL. She worked at the Florida Department of Health in Putnam for over 20 years as an interview clerk. She would joke that she would never retire because she loved to go shopping. In the past, she had volunteered at the Florahome Fire Department, Relay for Life, March of Dimes and feeding the homeless. She loved to bake, sew, craft, and, of course, go shopping for any reason. She was a very compassionate and generous person. She loved to spend time with her family and teach others her crafting skills.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 6pm at Johnson Overturf in Palatka, FL. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Hicks (Buddy), Dina Herren (James), and Gina Christopher (Thomas), and sister, Mamie Dian Matthews, and brother Charles Hardage III, and 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to be sent to the Bread of Life at P.O. Box 1183, Palatka, FL 32177.
