Brenda Ann Raber, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Baptist Medical Center Downtown in Jacksonville following a sudden illness. She was born in New York, raised in Texas and had lived in Putnam County several times throughout her life. Brenda had worked for more than 25 years as a beautician at Regis, Ralph’s and most recently Smart Style in Wal-Mart. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, listening to music, trips to the beach and fishing. Brenda was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Spurles and stepmother, Nancy Spurles.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Richard Raber, daughter, Desiree Baker (Steven), mother, Esther Spurles, sisters, Donna Pittman and Linda Appling (Bobby), grandchildren, Alyssa, Autumn and Michael Blount, III as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 2:00 pm until time of services.
