Caroline Elizabeth Mott, 96, of Gainesville and formerly of Interlachen, passed from this life on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at home following an extended illness. A native of Winter Garden, Florida, she resided in Gainesville for the past year, moving there from Interlachen where she had resided since 1972. Caroline was a homemaker. She was an avid bowler and had been involved in bowling leagues in Palatka. Her favorite past-times were fishing and gardening. Caroline also had a special love for her animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. Mott, her parents, James H. Denham and Alice Willis Denham, 2 daughters, Ann Piggot and Martha Wells.
Caroline is survived by a son, John Mott (Georgia) of Interlachen, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and a nephew, Bobby Kilgore.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
