Catherine Green “Cathy” Rains, 62, of East Palatka, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at her home following an extended illness. A native of St. Augustine, Cathy was a 1979 Graduate of St. Augustine High School. She had worked 30 years in Civil Service as a budget analyst with the Florida National Guard in St. Augustine. In her leisure time, Cathy enjoyed cruising, casinos, shopping and spending time with her family and especially her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell A. Green and Faye Braddock Green and a brother, Arthur Green.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Tom Rains of East Palatka, a daughter, Danielle Williams (Brian) of St. Augustine, a son, Taylor B. Rains (Hallie) of East Palatka, a sister, Deloris Halloway of Lake City and 5 loving grandchildren.
A memorial celebration of Cathy’s life will be at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Mark Lance Florida National Guard Armory, 190 San Marco Ave. in St. Augustine with Pastor Josh Hersey officiating.
