Charles Richard “CR” “Dick” Wells, 74, of Palatka, passed from this life on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. He was raised in San Mateo and had been a lifelong resident of Putnam County. Dick was a 1964 graduate of Palatka High School and had served in the reserves with the National Guard. He worked as an engineer for CSX Railroad for more than 30 years. In the past he had attended River Road Baptist Church. Dick was an avid turkey hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, M. J. and Alice Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Wells of Palatka, stepson, Mike Tucker (Michelle) of Palatka, sisters, Barbara Prosser (Chan) of Collierville, TN and Marie Harris of Port Orange, 2 grandchildren, Cameryn and Mark Tucker as well as several nieces.
