Obituary for Claude E. DeGolyer Jr.

Claude Elbert DeGolyer, Jr. of Palatka, FL went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2020 at the age of 83. Claude was born on April 23, 1937 to parents Claude Elbert DeGolyer, Sr. and Geneva Hicks DeGolyer in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

He is survived by his wife Tamara DeGolyer, his daughters, Jennifer DeGolyer Bobis and Marcie DeGolyer Kendall, and his grandchildren Aidan and Isabel Bobis, Victoria DeGolyer, and Lexi Strickland.

Claude had many talents. During his life, he was a commercial fisherman, a carpenter, a writer, and an employee of Seminole Electric. He will be remembered for his great story-telling, his sense of humor, his love of treasure hunting, hanging out with his coffee shop friends, delivering food boxes for the food bank, and his love of family.

A visitation will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Christ United Methodist in Hastings. Claude served in the United States Army and will be laid to rest with military honors at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 10 AM on Monday, November 23, 2020. Masks are required at both locations.
