Obituary for David Reuben Peck

David Reuben Peck, 87 of Palatka, Florida, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was born October 4, 1933 in Huntington, New York. He graduated from Stony Brook School for Boys and after served in the U.S. Navy. David then attended The State University of New York in Farmingdale, where he graduated with an A.S. degree. He started his career as an estimator and project manager in building construction in Connecticut, and he and his wife continued their long journey through life together, raising a family and traveling the country. He and his wife moved to Palatka in 1982, where he finished his career at Seminole Electric. David had an adventurous spirit. He and his wife traveled to all 50 states, and enjoyed camping, hiking, exploring nature, and making cherished memories with his family. He eagerly enjoyed sharing his experiences with not only close family and friends but also anyone who crossed his path.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Peck, his children, Helen Bonoff, LeRoy Peck, Lucile Lew, Paul Peck, Susan Peck Briere, Mary Pipa, Edward Peck, his sister, Priscilla Regan, his 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Funeral services to celebrate David’s life will be held at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka on Wednesday, May 12. Visiting hours are 5:30-6 p.m. followed by the memorial service from 6-7 p.m.
