Obituary for Deborah Sutton Gregory

Deborah Sutton Gregory, 70, of Palatka, passed from this life on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. A native of St. Augustine, Deborah had lived most all her life in St. Johns and Putnam Counties. She was a graduate of St. Johns River Junior College. Deborah had worked many years in the banking industry as a loan officer and personal banker. Over the years she worked in Palatka and Hastings with Atlantic National Bank, First Federal Savings and Loan, TD Bank and with Capital City Bank. She was an avid Gator Fan and especially of the women’s gymnastics team. In her leisure time, Deborah enjoyed crafts and sending cards to family and friends at the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Mozelle Sutton, a sister, Barbara Ann “Jan” Mauldin and a brother, John “Frank” Sutton.
Deborah is survived by her companion of 33 years, Charles Brown of Palatka, her step-sons, Charlie Brown (Renee) of Salt Springs and Brian Brown (Stephanie) of East Palatka, 5 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Jones (Parker), Hayli Brown (Corey), Raylee Brown (Blake), Blake Brown (Alyson Vickers) and Beau Brown, 5 great-grandchildren, Austin Jones, Kylie Jones, Cannon Meritt, Ray Dillman and Colton Brown, nieces, Joyce Hinson and Wendy Hancock, great-niece, Johanna Hinson Seibert, great-nephew, Michael Hinson and great-great-nephews, Triston Kort and Kaleb Seibert.
Graveside services celebrating Deborah’s life will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Peniel Cemetery in Palatka with Pastors Willie B. McKinnon, Jr and Willie B. McKinnon, III officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
