Obituary for Dewey Dexter Keene

Dewey “Dexter” Keene, 74, of East Palatka was reunited in heaven with his loving mother Cora, father Dewey, and twin sons on Sunday May 15th in Gainesville, Florida, after fighting hard right to the end.
Dexter is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Sandra Keene, daughters Brandi (Shawn) Bidot, Amber (Jamie) Walters, Becca (John) Auer, Tina, and son Dexter Jr.
Dexter was a lifelong mechanic and retired from Georgia-Pacific. He enjoyed fixing anything and loved DIY projects. His true passions were gardening, nature, scuba diving for artifacts, making his top secret datil pepper hot sauce, and his many, many funny “Dexterism” quotes. If you knew Dexter, you already know he was a good friend who would always help to the best of his ability. You also know he was always up for a good-hearted prank, especially on his daughters.
Dexter never liked being the center of attention and requested a private graveside service to celebrate his memory. He would have loved for his friends to remember the happy memories and good times they shared.
Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
