Obituary for Donald Wayne Wells

Donald Wayne Wells, 82, of Palatka, passed from this life on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center. A native of Bonifay, Florida, Donald resided in Putnam County since 1959 coming from Bonifay. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Donald retired from Georgia Pacific following 43 years as a machine tender in the tissue paper division. Following his time at Georgia Pacific, he worked several years with Weiser Security at the Putnam County Courthouse. He was a very active member of the Palatka ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he had held several positions and worked with the youth. An avid FSU fan, he also enjoyed fishing and traveling and taking cruises. Most important to Donald though was time spent with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Wells and Edna Mae Wells and a sister, Evelyn Bryant.
Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Rosier Wells of Palatka, 2 sons, Donny Wells (Mary Kaye) of Palatka and Bobby Wells (Jennifer) of Eagle, CO, a brother, Doyle Wells of Hollister, 3 grandchildren, Mandee Johnson (Austin), Dillon Wells and Addisyn Wells, brother-in-law Randy Rosier (Sally) of Thomasville, GA, sister-in-law, Nancy McClellan (Jeff) of Palatka and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Bishop Jay Tilton conducting. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-7 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
Due to concerns with the Covid 19 virus, all attending the services are required to wear facial coverings when not practicing social distancing.
