Dorothy “Lois” Squires Beck, 91, of Palatka was born July 4, 1929 and passed away April 24, 2021 at her home. Lois was born in Palatka and had been a lifelong resident. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lois enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts of all kinds and serving in various capacities at her church. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Lemon Heights Baptist Church and then Grace Fellowship.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Preston Beck.
She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha Denton (Ed), Judy Thompson (Paul) and Lisa Thomas (Rodney) all of Palatka, her six grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis (Todd) of Palatka, William Coleman of Satsuma, Todd Denton of Melbourne, Hillary Denton of Jacksonville, James Burke of East Palatka and Jacob Burke of Palatka, six great-grandchildren, Anna Davis, Gracie Davis, Kalli Davis and Caden Davis all of Palatka and Sarah Coleman and Jonathan Coleman both of Satsuma and one great-great-grandson, Colson King of Palatka.
Services will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Terry Wright officiating. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services at 3:00 P.M.
