Obituary for Erma M Thompson

Erma M. Thompson, 85, of Palatka, passed from this life on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka. Born in St. Cloud, Florida, she resided in Putnam County since the mid 1950’s coming from Cross City. Erma worked several places over the years including with Central States Diversified, Handy Way and Huntley Bros stores, as a cashier at Pantry Pride for 20 years and as a cafeteria worker with the Putnam County School District for 15 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. In her leisure time, Erma enjoyed cooking, collecting dolls, quilts and teapots and compiling cookbooks. Erma also cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Thompson, a son, Dennis Mullis, her parents, James and Georgia Clemons, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Erma is survived by her children, Beverly Pitts (Raymond) of Palatka, Karen Walton (“Boots”) of Deland and Steve Thompson (Pam) of Palatka, 9 grandchildren, Monica Weaver (Daniel), Matt Kelly (Fiance Cortney Benjamin), Alicia Ochoa (Rafael), Amy Mullis, Ashley Tucker, Miranda Corley (Brett), Jerry Thompson, Karey Alicea (Hector) and Thomas Thompson (Fiance Kim Stephens), 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Services for the family will be at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor John Cameron officiating. While maintaining adherence to social distancing and following Covid 19 guidelines, the family will receive friends Tuesday prior to the service from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M.
