Ervin Richard Taylor, 73, of Interlachen, passed from this life on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. He was born in Jacksonville, FL and had been a resident of Putnam County for many years. Richard was a veteran of the U S Air Force. Before retiring he had worked as a mail handler for the U S Postal Service in Jacksonville. Richard was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Interlachen ward. He enjoyed volunteering with Camp Kiwanis in Ocala and was an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scouts of America.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Cornelia Taylor, siblings, Edward Taylor, Jr. and Bryan Taylor and sister, Demarice Marie Hatfield.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith Diane Taylor, children, Marsha Ann Taylor, Ervin Anthony Taylor, Christopher Ross Taylor (Robin), Rosalee Janette McLain (Michael) and Cheryl Lynn Dymek (Patrick), sisters, Helen Barbara Prater and Wanda Rose Odom, grandchildren, Ashlee Faith Taylor, Lyndsey Rose Taylor, Sarah Hope Taylor, Kierstyn Renee Taylor, Kenley Rose Taylor, Jane Rose Dymek and Taylor James Dymek as well as great-granddaughter, Autumn Faith Zenner.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 28, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Interlachen ward with Bishop Andrew Geddes conducting. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning beginning at 9:00 am until time of services. Burial will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 pm with military honors rendered by the U S Air Force.
