Obituary for Frances Jane Campbell

Frances Jane Campbell, 81, of Palatka, was called to Heaven by her Lord on March 22, 2023.
Jane was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She will be greatly missed. Jane had a joyful and outgoing spirit and never met a stranger. In her prime, she was an excellent southern cook who made the best deviled eggs and potato salad. She graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School before attending Secretarial school. She was a Secretary at Palatka High School and then at the School District Warehouse before retiring in 2001. Jane loved spending time with her family, especially her darling granddaughter Lily Ann. She enjoyed genealogy and history, sewing, decorating, reading, spending time with her friends and pets, and watching British mystery series with her daughter.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lt. Lambert Nelson “Si” Campbell; her parents Calvin and Gertrude Thornton; her brothers Leffet and Kenneth Thornton and cherished sister, Eunice Margo (Thornton) Albury.
She is survived by her son, Rame Lambert Campbell (Jennifer) of Anderson, S.C.; granddaughter Lily Ann Campbell; her daughter, Susan Margo Campbell Farley (Eddie) of Cape Coral; her brother-in-law J. David Albury and nieces Bess (Albury) Knoblock and Virginia (Albury) Dennis of Ocala.
A service celebrating Jane’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday March 30, 2023, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka. Burial will follow at Peniel Cemetery in Palatka. The family will receive family and friends at Johnson-Overturf from 1:00 pm until time of services at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a pet rescue of their choice in Jane’s memory.
