Obituary for Gerald Dean "Jerry" Brisbin

Gerald “Jerry” Brisbin, age 92 passed on January 6, 2023, at E. T. York Haven Hospice in Gainesville after a brief illness. He was born April 23, 1930, in Floydada Oklahoma and lived in El Paso, Texas until adulthood. He joined the Air Force on December 26, 1950 and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged December 7, 1954. He married Juanita Hebert of Palatka at St. Marks Episcopal Church on October 9, 1954.
He worked a variety of jobs but mainly as a real estate appraiser. He was a Jack of All Trades and enjoyed fixing things. He sharpened knives for anyone and enjoyed other hobbies as well.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 65 years, Juanita; a son, Michael Dean Brisbin; his parents, Marvin and Berkie Brisbin; a brother, Ted Brisbin and other cousins, aunts, and uncles.
His is survived by his daughters, Christie Lane (Ronnie) of Palatka and Brenda Butler of Williston. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Marie Lane of Orange Park, Susan Lane (Frank Smith) of Jacksonville, Michael Ramiya (Allysia Camacho) of Chiefland; and Sarah Ramiya (Zay Young) of Archer.
Great grandchildren include Noah Weaver of Orange Park, Gianna and Skylar Young of Archer and Kayson Ramiya of Chiefland. Many other nieces, nephews and cousins also remember him.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10am at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Palatka. Father Bob Marsh will be officiating. Burial will follow at 2pm at Forest Meadows Cemetery Central in Gainesville, FL with military honors bestowed by the U.S. Air Force.
