Obituary for Gloria B. Daly

Gloria B. Daly passed from this life peacefully at home in East Palatka on Wednesday August 17, 2022 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her parents, Victor Charles Ball, Sr. and her mother Mary Agatha Ball; her brother Victor C. Ball, and her ex-husband, William J. Daly. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Marie Daly of Knoxville, TN; her sons Christopher Daly, of Boulder Creek, CA and Michael Daly of East Palatka, FL; her grandson Joshua James Daly, of Clear Lake, CA and her niece Christine Dwyer of Manhattan, NY.
Gloria was a devout Roman Catholic and prayer warrior, a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish in Knoxville, TN, before moving to East Palatka, and becoming a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Elkton, FL. Gloria was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker for seventeen years. She loved children and worked as a school teacher. She had extensive work experience in NYC employed at varies companies including American Broadcasting (ABC), ATT, and several Madison Avenue advertising firms. She had a later career as a school teacher, and technical writer for Burns & Roe. She transferred to Oak Ridge, TN where she later worked for Tresp, Inc. and retired in 1997. Gloria was an advocate of proper diet and exercise, loved to cook and entertain her friends. She was well-known for her forthright and outspoken nature. She loved to travel internationally, especially to France. She loved French culture, cuisine, and champagne.
Her funeral will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Elkton, FL at 10 am on Saturday August 27, 2022, with internment to follow at St. Ambrose Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday August 25, 2022 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home, Palm Ave, Palatka, FL.
