Gloria Torres, 94, of Interlachen, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Guanica, Puerto Rico and had been a resident of Interlachen since 1998 coming from Brooklyn, NY. Gloria enjoyed listening to music, gardening and cooking for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Torres, parents, Jose Cruz and Floripe Ayala Cruz as well as several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth O’Neill (Emilio), Iris Gonzalez (Hector), and Modesto Ramos (Elba), sisters, Ada Flor Cruz, Chendy Cruz Ayala (Jessi), sister-in-law, Carmen Torres, grandchildren, Emily, Victor, Hector Jr., Luis, Gloria, Christian, and Emilio Jr. as well as great-grandchildren, E’mya, Airionna, Ja’myra, André, Justin, Joseph, Leah, Jayden, Zahara, Hunter and Kassandra.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 5, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Interlachen with Pastor Pablo Fuentes as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Interlachen from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
