Gregorio Ayala-Cruz, 74, of Hawthorne, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Baptist Medical Center South following an extended illness. He was born in New York, NY and had lived in Hawthorne since 2007 coming from Gainesville. Gregorio attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Interlachen ward. He served in the US Army and enjoyed playing music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio Ayala and Juanita Cruz, and a sister.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cathy San Inocencio Ayala-Cruz, and niece, Grimarie Fernandez Ayala.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Interlachen ward with Bishop Andrew Geddis presiding. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 am until time of services. Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
