Obituary for Hazel Bernice Overholser

Hazel Bernice Overholser, 81, of Palatka, passed from this life unexpectedly on Sunday, February 20, 20222, at Putnam Community Medical Center from natural causes. She was born in Boston, Georgia and had been a resident of Putnam County since 1978 coming from Middleburg. Hazel was a member of New Beginning Baptist Fellowship. She had worked as a cashier and in front service personnel with Publix for 15 years.
She is preceded in death by her son, Chard R. Overholser, parents, Andrew and Hazel Marchant, and brothers, James and Bill Marchant.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Billy R. Overholser of Palatka, daughter, Cindy Huet (Jason) of Apopka as well as 3 grandchildren, Alyse Scott, Alanna Scott and Austin Scott.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at New Beginning Baptist Fellowship in Palatka with Pastor Rick McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday beginning at 1:00 pm until time of services.
