Helen P. “Sissie” Preston, 75, of San Mateo, passed from this life on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Hodge, LA and had spent most of her life in San Mateo. Sissie had worked as a receiving clerk for Georgia Pacific retiring after 17 years of service. She was a member of San Mateo Presbyterian Church and was an avid Gator fan. Sissie was also a member of Bass & Babes and enjoyed participating in numerous fishing tournaments.
She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Baggett, parents, Clayton and Mary Prescott and brother, John Prescott.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Baggett (Jackie) of San Mateo, sister, Miriam Donohoo (Jim) of Palatka, grandchildren, Jonathan Baggett (fiancé Samantha), Christina Seitz (Tyler), Kelcey Davis (Corey) and Jake Baggett, several great-grandchildren, niece, Renae Donohoo and nephew, Stewart Donohoo (Amanda).
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at San Mateo Cemetery with Bro. Willie McKinnon, Jr. officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to San Mateo Presbyterian Church, 201 Currie Rd., San Mateo, FL 32187 or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
