Obituary for Herbert Cremer

Herbert Cremer, 88, of Palatka peacefully passed away at his home Friday, March 6th surrounded by family and friends following a short illness. Born April 25, 1931 to the late Albert Otto and Janet “Jennie” Pfeiffer Cremer in Butler, NJ.
He was a graduate of Butler High School. After serving in the Navy as an Electrician Mate Third Class he was honorably discharged. He began his 35-year career working for West Milford Public Works, while he continued to do side work of excavating and moving dirt and rock locally.
Retiring to Florida with his beloved wife Evelyn, he enjoyed most, his time with her (Evelyn), visiting with his brothers, sisters, family and friends.
He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He loved making and giving birdhouses to family and friends.
A quiet man with deep conviction to the Lord Jesus Christ, country and family. He tried his best to serve them all.
Herbert was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife Evelyn Henderson Cremer, brothers, William “Sonny” Cremer, Albert John Cremer, Edward George Cremer, sisters, Jeanette Kaulfers, Marie Smith, Margaret Tulp, Minnie “Tootie” Marion, and granddaughter, Mary Cremer.
He is survived by his two sons, Herbert V. Cremer (Brenda) and Eric T. Cremer (Leslie Carroll), grandchildren, Marge, Herby and Joe, numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces.
There will be a graveside service at North Hardston Cemetery in Sussex, NJ at a later date.
Donations in Herbert’s name may be made to the University of St. Augustine Health Science, 1 University Blvd., St. Augustine, FL 32086, for the pro bono clinic which he enjoyed going to the last 8 months of his life.
