Obituary for Howard W. Nunamaker

Howard W. Nunamaker, 74, of East Palatka, passed from this life on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Madison, PA and had lived in Putnam County since 1985. Howard was a veteran of the U S Marine Corps. He had worked as a mechanic and had been a carpenter for more than 30 years. He also subcontracted for Georgia Pacific for 18 years. Howard, aka “Fudge Daddy”, was famous for making delicious fudge and loved to share with his family and friends. He enjoyed working on cars and building decks and sheds. Howard especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola Nunamaker, son, John Bartelli, and siblings, Paul, Don, George, Bud, Dave, Bonnie and Shirley.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy Nunamaker, children, Georgia Damerst, Brenda Yates (Larry), Howard Nunamaker, Jr. (Leigh Anne), Tina Harsey (Michael), Tracy Hodges (fiancé, Stephen), Angelo Bartelli (Chrissy), Angela Jacobs, Harold Bartelli (Tammy), Eddie Bartelli (Tina), and Frank Bartelli, siblings, Carol Lane, Helen Kline (Sherwood), Annie Corbet, Betty Trayer, Richard Nunamaker (Helen), John Nunamaker (Pam), Linda Lash (David), Harry Nunamaker, Judy Fruehstorfer and Barbara Buzzard, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Gary Taylor officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the U S Marine Corps. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm until time of services.
