Obituary for James E. "Jim" Sullivan Jr.

James Edward “Jim” Sullivan, Jr., 75, of Interlachen, entered the sunset of his life on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Malcom Randall Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness.
He was born to the late James E. Sr. and Dorothy A. Sullivan in Terre Haute, IN. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Donna G. Sullivan, sister, Dorothy A. Lynch, brothers, William R. “Bill” Sullivan, Andrew N. “Andy” Sullivan, Sr. and Charles E. “Charlie” Sullivan, Sr., And brother-in-law, Phillip R. Clark,
He was a proud veteran serving with the U S Navy from 1966-1970. He was a die-hard Florida Gator fan, an avid golfer and passionate outdoorsman. Through his jokester and brash personality, he was compassionate, loving, enjoyed cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Karen Tate (Mark) and Robert McRae (Heidi), grandchildren, Mark Tate, II (Rachel), Kimberly Barker (Brandon) and Donna Tate, great-grandchildren, Leland Barker, Kieran Tate, Hudson Barker, Sullivan Barker, Kinley Barker and Ella Tate.
He is also survived by his siblings, Carolyn “Sue” Clark of Gainesville, FL, Robert “Bob” Sullivan, Sr. (Linda) of Terre Haute, IN, Lawrence “John” Sullivan (Shirleen) of Lake City, FL and Teresa “Tree” Holt (James Sr.) of Fairbanks, FL, several nieces, nephews, even more great nieces and great nephews, extended family, friends and then some.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023, in the fellowship hall of Woodlawn Baptist Church, 818 CR 20A, Hawthorne, FL with Dr. L. D. Osteen officiating.
Patriotic or Florida Gator attire is encouraged.
