Janet Joyce Sikes, 78, of Palatka, passed from this life on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Solaris Healthcare Palatka following an extended illness. She was a native of Passaic, NJ and had lived in Putnam County since 1999 coming from California. Janet was a professional seamstress and had owned and operated a bridal store. While In California she retired from Rockwell International where she was involved in the construction of several space shuttle orbiters. She was a lifetime member of the Vineyard Churches and was a volunteer at 91.3 HOPE FM for more than 20 years. Janet loved to cook and go to the beach. She especially enjoyed hosting special Wednesday night dinners for her special friends for years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Boone and Mary Boone Diaz, sisters, Diane Decker and MaryAnn Crum, and brother, Robert Boone.
She is survived by her children, Brian Kakuk, Robin Harris and Jimmy Kakuk (Darcy), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, special nieces, Dawn Griffis (Steve), Tammy Reagan (Mark) and Carol Lazor as well as special friend, Robin Robinson.
