Obituary for Jason Jed Morris

Jason Jed Morris, 56, of Peniel, passed from this life unexpectedly on Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home from natural causes. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, Jason was a 1984 graduate of Palatka High School where he played football and was on the 1981 State Champion team. Following high school, Jason attended St. Johns River Community College where he earned his Associate Degree. He had worked as a trim carpenter in the construction industry. A member of Peniel Baptist Church, Jason had also served as a football coach at Peniel Academy. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Asa Morris.
Jason is survived by a son, Logan Morris (Victoria) of Oxford, NC, a daughter, Morgan Morris of Palm Coast, his parents, Kenny and Emily Grace Morris of Peniel, a sister, Julie Duffy (Edward) of Palm Coast, a grandchild, Hunter Sutherland and other extended family.

The Visitation for Jason Morris scheduled for this evening is canceled due to the immediate family members being exposed to Covid.
The graveside service that was scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, July 15, 2022 is now PRIVATE for the immediate family.
We appreciate everyone understanding the family’s wishes.
