Obituary for Katharina E. "Katie" Bellamy

Katharina “Katie” Bellamy

Katharina “Katie” Bellamy, 82, of Palatka, passed away peacefully with her daughters and niece by her side on Monday, May 15, 2023. She was born on May 27, 1940 in Marburg/Lahn, W Germany.
Mom was born to Willi and Martha Klein and was the 16th born out of 18 siblings.
She married Carl Bellamy in 1960 and came to the US. They had 3 children together
Debbie Miller, David Bellamy (Sabine) and Della Anderson. Mom worked at Atlas Door Plant for a few years and retired in 2002 from Georgia Pacific as a case packer operator after 25 yrs. of service due to health reasons.
Our mother was a wonderful mother and grandmother. There are no words to describe how much she is and will be missed. She learned to speak English by watching her soaps on tv and listening to the radio. She loved listening to Elvis, Vince Gill, Daniel O’Donnell and her German music always took her back home. She was of the Evangelical faith.

Preceding her in death are her parents and 15 siblings, her second husband, Gene Barrett and sons-in-law, Urgee Miller and Clifford Anderson.

Surviving her are her children and her grandchildren, Sonny (Shannon), Daniel (Cecilia), Missy, Dana (Carlos), Jason (Jessica), Lee (Nicole), Tony and her namesake Katie, 14 great-grandchildren and her favorite niece, Angelika Williams as well as many friends and extended family.

A special thank you to mom’s nurse Amber Champion and to Vitas in Palatka.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Palatka Memorial Gardens with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. No public visitation is scheduled.
