Obituary for Larry David Fayard

Loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend Larry David Fayard passed away suddenly at the age of 81 at home on Monday, February 28th,2022. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Larry was born on March 21st, 1940, in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi to Fred E. Sr and Sedonia Rose (Taconi) Fayard on March 21, 1940. He attended St. Stanislaus School in Bay St. Louis. After Graduating from High School, he attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was also in the Army Reserves. After graduation, he remained in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his first wife, Irene Patricia and worked as a Hydrologist for the United States Federal Government. He retired and moved to Florida and worked for the State of Florida St. Johns Water River Management until he retired for the second time.
He was an avid LSU Tigers fan and John Wayne, and all shows and movies western (Just ask anyone who visited his home!). He also enjoyed playing golf and going fishing. Larry was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended St John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Larry is survived by his wife, Margy Dunne Stevenson of the home, one daughter, Kelly (Ray) Mann of Junction City, KS, 3 sons, Christopher of Georgetown FL, James of Atoka TN, Jason (Valerie) of Guyton GA, stepson Carl (Janet) Stevenson of Jacksonville Beach FL, stepdaughter Mary Kemper of Jacksonville Beach FL, and Charles (Trudy) Stevenson of Jacksonville FL. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister, his first wife, and granddaughter, Lisa Renee Hart.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Chapel in Crescent City with Father Jim May as celebrant. Burial will take place in Eden Cemetery at a later date.
