Laurie V. Cannon, 59, of Salt Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital in Palatka. A native of Jacksonville, she resided in Salt Springs since 1967 moving there from Jacksonville. Laurie had worked as a teller in the banking industry. She was a member of Words of Light Church in Jacksonville. In her leisure time, Laurie enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, racing cars and loving on her pets. She also cherished quality time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse V. Anderson.
Laurie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Burman Cannon, a son, Devon Zook, a daughter, Rachel King, her mother, Daisy Anderson, 4 sisters, Rev. Linda Adkins (Howard), Gail Busbee (Tom), Karen Roberts (Bill) and Karol Lowery (Stan), 8 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews and 18 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating Laurie’s life will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Rev. Linda Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill East Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
