Obituary for Leslie Robert Skinner

Leslie Robert Skinner, 64, of Interlachen, passed from this life on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Jasper, Alabama, he resided in Putnam County since 2006 coming here from West Palm Beach. Robert worked as a heavy equipment operator having done contract work for Florida Power & Light and for BellSouth. He was a member of Veterans Post #104. In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed fishing as well as playing his guitar and singing karaoke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Garfield Skinner and Sara Lewis Skinner, 4 brothers, Allen, Bruce, Garfield and Harvey and 5 sisters, Linda, Doris, Melvis, Kathleen and Dorothy.
Robert is survived by his wife, Debra Skinner of Interlachen, 4 sons, Leslie McDonald (Kadi) and Eric McDonald (Mindy), all of Pleasant Grove, AL, Jason Skinner, Cody Skinner of Satsuma, 3 daughters, Tammy Chaney (Randy) of Palatka, April McDonald and Michelle McDonald, both of Pleasant Grove, AL, 3 step-daughters, Crystal Benneti and Jessica Weigenka, both of Choctaw, OK, and Amanda Allarding of Michigan, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
