Obituary for Linda H. Tanner

Linda Headley Tanner, 83, of Grandin passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka. Linda had resided in Florida most of her life, living briefly in Albertville, Alabama.
She was a registered nurse at Putnam Memorial Hospital, Hudson Paper Mill, Upjohn Home Health, and other facilities. Linda was a long-time member of Lake Hill Baptist Church in McRae Florida, touching many lives along the way. She loved to sing, loved music, and to teach others about Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Louise Headley, her husband, Roland Tanner, grandson, Kaylon Varnes and a brother, Kenny Headley.
She is survived by her children, Louise Osborn (Ross), Alan Tanner (Joanne), Karen Varnes (Ed), Brenda Sweeney, Melinda Sturdivant (Larry), grandchildren, Drew Tompkins, Christen Tompkins, Gabrielle and Matthew Osborn, Lee Tanner, Lauren Wilson, Carmen McKinney, Tyler Sweeney, Derek Sweeney, Jesse Reed, Brian Reed and Trevor Reed, great-grandchildren, Maxx McKinney, Charlotte Tanner, Mikayla, Wyatt, Camryn, Oliver, and Perry Reed, sisters, Mary Yarbrough, Margaret Toohey (Larry) as well as special nieces and nephews. Many very special friends made a difference in Linda’s life.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Johnson Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Brother Charles Litzell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 10:00 am until the time of services. A private burial will be held at Palatka Memorial Gardens.
