Margaret Ann Collins, 71, of Interlachen, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center. A native of Atlantic City, New Jersey, she resided in Interlachen for 50 years coming from New Jersey. Margaret worked 10 years with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer. She later worked as a clerk at the Fast Tract in Interlachen. Margaret enjoyed time helping raise grandkids as well as working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Collins, her parents, Wallace B. Harris, Sr. and Rosemary Francisco Harris, 2 sons, Charles “Chipper” Collins, Jr. and Christopher Collins, 3 brothers, Wallace B. Harris, Jr., Michael Harris and Ronald Keyser and a grandson, C.J. Collins.
Margaret is survived by her companion of 28 years, Dean Marcus Smith of Interlachen, 3 sisters, Charlotte Francisco Stapleton (Bob) of Maple Shade, NJ, Dawn Harris of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and LuRaye Haag of Grampian, PA, a brother, Lawrence “Larry” Harris of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, 6 grandchildren, Christopher Lee Collins, Jr., Hannah Collins, Brooklyn Davis, Zachary Collins, Tyler Burns, Taelyn Collins, a great-grandchild, Lilly Collins, a daughter-in-law, Barbie Haver of Hawthorne, many nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Services celebrating Margaret’s life will be at 3:00 P.M. Monday, February 6, 2023 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Interlachen with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services at 3:00 P.M.
