Maria Ann Carmichael, 83, of Hawthorne, passed from this life on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Plaza Health & Rehab in Gainesville following an extended illness. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she had resided in Hawthorne since 1996 moving there from Citra. Prior to moving to Citra, she resided in West Palm Beach. Maria had worked as a data processing clerk with Pratt-Whitney and later with McKesson and Robbins in West Palm Beach. In her leisure time, Maria enjoyed the QVC Channel on T.V.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Panico and Dorothy Southworth Panico as well as a sister, Diana Wild.
Maria is survived by her husband David Wahlberg, a son, John J. Petersen (Cyndi) of Melrose, a daughter, Lynn Hayes (Robert Dampier) of Hawthorne and 2 grandchildren, Christine Petersen and John Christopher Petersen (Amanda).
