Mary M.”Margaret” Day, 86, of Palatka, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. Born in Mobile, Alabama, she lived most all her life in Palatka. Mary was a homemaker and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Johnson. She enjoyed cooking, getting her hair done and shopping, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence D. Day, Sr., a son, Clarence Douglas Day, 2 daughters, Linda Sue Mitchell and Dana Lynn Meredith.
Mary is survived by 2 daughters, Cindy Lusk and Sheila Hinson, granddaughter and caretaker, Dina Womble and numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services celebrating Mary’s life will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 15, 2022 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Dr. L.D. O’Steen officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill East Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M.
