Obituary for Mary Waters
Mary Lois Clifton Waters, 51, of Palatka, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center.
Our family is grieving the loss of our sweet Mary. Always a kind, caring and softspoken person. She had been so determined in her fight to live these last few months but she’s now free from pain, safe in the arms of Jesus in Heaven. She loved her family with all her heart and was very devoted to them especially her loving husband, Danny. She loved nature, riding in the woods, being at their camp in the scrubs, fishing with her grandbabies, taking care of her plants, having cookouts with family and friends and dancing. She loved dragonflies; seeing them reminded her of loved ones no longer with us. Now when we see one, we will think of her. She was affectionately known as Luuweezz by her beloved husband Danny, Giggles by her grandbabies and Chickee-Pooh by her close friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Mary Goodson, paternal grandparents, Leland and Lauis Clifton, and father-in-law, James L. Waters.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James Daniel “Danny” Waters of Palatka, daughter, Tara Dawn Waters of Palatka, grandchildren, Cassidy Clymer, Colton Waters and Justin Cooper, mother, Ava Walker (John) of San Mateo, father, Benny Clifton (Brenda) of San Mateo, mother-in-law, Kathy Water of Palatka, brothers, Benny “Bo” Clifton (Bonnie) of East Palatka, Ian Walker of San Mateo, Wesley Walker of Elkton, sisters, Joy Tincher (Jamie) of San Mateo, Tori Rowe (Adam) of St. Augustine, sisters-in-law, Nikki Leith (who she called her sister) and Casey Grawey, close friends, Melonie, Dave and Matt Daniels, Charlotte and Larry Allen, Wayne Smith (Unki Wing Smiff), and B.J. Sexton (her hog valley friend).
