Obituary for Myrtle Louise Vinson

Myrtle Louise Vinson, 80, of Palatka, passed from this life on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Putnam Community Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka. She was a 1958 graduate of Palatka High School and had worked at Georgia Pacific for 12 years. Myrtle enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and eating (especially catfish). She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Curtis Timothy “Tim” Vinson, son, Greg Vinson, parents, Raymond M. Woodruff and Idelia Johns Woodruff, sister, Sandra Woodruff Harper and brother, Raymond Morris Woodruff, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Chris Vinson (Leslie) of Pomona Park, Wayne Vinson of Palatka and Scott Vinson (Robert) of Jacksonville, and 7 grandchildren, Nikki Proveaux (Travis), Travis Helms, Kenneth Vinson (Stacey), Christina Proctor (Paul), Nicholas McLeod, Jordan McLeod, and Billy Vinson.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin with Bro. A. O. Johns officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka.
