Obituary for Nancy Jackson Pavlidies

Nancy Jackson Pavlidies, 84, of San Mateo, passed away on February 10, 2022, at Flagler Hospital following a brief illness. She was born August 11, 1937 and adopted as an infant through Children’s Home Society by her parents, Florence and James M. Jackson. She was raised in Crescent City and had lived in San Mateo since 1990, coming from West Virginia. Nancy was an active member of the Church of the Holy Comforter, where she attended church as a child, and was a devoted Christian. She watched every Sunday service on her tablet, and her great-nephews knew to be on call to fix any computer problems so she didn’t miss church. She worked as an antiques dealer and later as a nanny and helped raise a generation of great-nieces and great-nephews. She enjoyed playing word games on her tablet and spending time with family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nick G. Pavlidies, parents, James and Florence Jackson, brother, Wesley Jackson, sister, Sara “Sally” Boyles, and nephew, Brandon C. Wilkinson.
She is survived by her first cousin, Carole Lynn McCall, who was like a sister to her, nieces and nephews, Nannette Wray, Georgia Winegeart, Demetria Livingston (Bert), Jay Jackson (Anita), Leslie Wilkinson (Daniel “Moochie”), Stephen Boyles, Jr. (DeAnn “DeDe”), Allyson Currie (Patrick), Adele Mills (Dennis), Nasia Pavlidies Butcher, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Church of the Holy Comforter in Crescent City with Father Bob Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Cemetery in Crescent City.
