Obituary for Norma J McClellan

Norma J. McClellan, 88, of Johnson, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at her home from natural causes. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson. Norma had worked for more than 25 years as a supervisor for UF Police Department and years ago was the first policewoman for the city of Gainesville. Norma had also worked for Crevasse’s Florist in Gainesville. She was a very active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Johnson. Norma enjoyed cooking, gardening and had bowled on a league for 20 years. Her church family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and greatgrandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vanice D. McClelland and parents, Charles and Sarah Drake.
She is survived by her son, Gary McClellan (Mary), daughter, Lynn Denise McClellan, grandchildren, Jason McClellan (Brooke) and Jonathan McClellan (Patricia) as well as great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kyler, Gage and Raya.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Johnson with Dr. L. D. Osteen officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 am until time of services.
