Obituary for Pamela Jeane Funderburk

Pamela Jeane “Pam” Funderburk, 79, of Flagler Beach, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Advent Health in Palm Coast following an extended illness. A native of Miami, Pam resided in Flagler Beach for the past 22 years moving there from Jacksonville. She had been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 30 years, having worked in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Wisconsin and in Texas. She was a member of Flagler Beach Community Church where she was very involved with several aspects of the church ministry and was a dedicated “prayer warrior.” In her leisure time, Pam enjoyed traveling (road trips), reading and spending time with her daughter. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor and that she was loved by all who knew her as she was always doing for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Warren Turner, Sr. and Virginia Jenkins Turner.
Pam is survived by her husband of 21 years, Rick Funderburk of Flagler Beach, a daughter, Virginia Lynn Berken (Fiance’ Milton Owings) of Palm Coast, 2 sons, George Michael Fowler – Berken (Gwen) of Dillard, GA and Lester Scott Berken (Emily) of Atlanta, GA, a brother, George Warren Turner, Jr. (Carla) of Duluth, MN, a sister, Bonny Childers (Don) of Jacksonville, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A memorial celebration of Pam’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Flagler Beach Community Church with Pastor Bill Elias officiating.
