Paul Daniel Collier, 66, of Palatka, passed from this life on Monday, December 19, 2022 at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Jacksonville, Daniel was raised in Jacksonville and was in the class of 1974 of Forrest High School. He lived in the Kingsland, Georgia and Yulee areas to be closer to work. More recently Daniel had been living in Putnam County. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. Daniel had been an employee with the U.S. Postal Service and worked over 20 years at the Bulk Mail Center in North Jacksonville. He had also previously worked in the HVAC industry. After his retirement he worked part time as a driver for Enterprise Rental cars. Daniel was a member of American Legion Post #202 in Keystone Heights and Palatka Moose Lodge #184. In his leisure time, Daniel enjoyed cookouts, NASCAR, and football (Gators, Tampa Bay Bucs and Miami Dolphins). He enjoyed boating and some of his fondest memories were of cookouts and time he had with family and friends at the family place on Lake Grandin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul L. Collier and Hilda G. Collier.
Daniel is survived by a son, Michael P. Collier (Robin) of St. Augustine, a daughter, Paula Christine Collier of Daytona Beach, a brother, Ronnie Collier (Tina) of East Palatka, a sister, Linda Cason (Mark) of Palatka and 2 grandchildren, Tyler Polcak and Abbi Collier.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with Rev. John Cameron officiating. The U.S. Army will also conduct military honors. No public visitation is scheduled.
