Phelps Marvin Carson, 78, of Lake Butler and formerly of Palatka, passed from this life on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Lake City following an extended illness. He was a native of Miami, FL and had lived in Lake Butler for the past 20 years coming from Palatka. Phelps was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He had worked as Head Grounds Keeper at Palatka High School for 3 years and had also worked at Dave’s Tops and Trim for 7 years. Phelps was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Lake Butler.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Wilma Carson and granddaughter, Hannah Rose Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat Carson of Lake Butler, daughter, Laura Urvina (David) of Brunswick, GA, and grandchildren, Emily Moore (Ethan), and Savannah Jackson.
