Obituary for Phyllis Chirico

Phyllis Chirico, 100, of Palatka, passed from this life on Saturday January 23, 2021 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following a brief illness. Born in New York City, New York, Phyllis moved to Putnam County in 1980 from Ft. Lauderdale where she had lived since 1951. While living in Ft. Lauderdale, Phyllis worked as a main baker in the Broward County School System for 20 years. Upon moving to Palatka, she worked 10 years with Storybook Cottage where she cooked all the meals. She was a Catholic and had attended both St. Moncia Catholic Church and College Park Baptist Church. In her leisure time, Phyllis enjoyed knitting for the new borns at the hospital, working with her ceramics and in years past, she enjoyed traveling with her husband Tony.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Anthony Chirico, Sr., a son, Anthony Chirico, Jr., a sister, Dorothy Destefano, son-in-law, Larry T. Wright, a great-granddaughter, Toni Ann Johnson and many other loved ones.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Ann Wright and Ernest Chirico, grandchildren, Laurie Feagin (Bobby), Anthony Chirico, Shelly Chirico, Wendy Driggers (Talmadge), Jennifer Beback (Jeff), Amanda Korber (Jonathan) and Ernest Chirico (Jenny), great-grandchildren, Greggory Johnson (Alma), Jason Thornton, Jacquelyn Boberg (Brian), Tony Chirico, Nicco Chirico, Jonathan Fields, Nathan Fields, Arielle Driggers, Taylor Driggers, Melanie Moreno (Edgar), Ryann Beback, Payton Beback, J.T. Korber, Grace Korber, Madison Chirico, Gianna Chirico and Rosie Chirico, great-great-grandchildren, Nathan Johnson, Colton Johnson, Kennedy Boberg, Benjamin Boberg, Piper Moreno and Emma Moreno.
Graveside services will at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Oak Hill West Cemetery with Bro. Barry Beauchamp officiating. No public visitation is scheduled.
Due to Covid 19 concerns, all attending will be required to wear facial coverings when not practicing social distancing.
