Rae Owens Hughes, 78, of Grandin, FL, passed from this life on Monday, September 12, 2022, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of Wilson, North Carolina and had been a resident of Putnam County since 2017 coming from Florence, MS. Rae had owned and operated an advertising business for many years and had also worked as an office manager for the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She was of the Christian faith, loved animals and enjoyed shopping. Rae also enjoyed yard saling and had a knack for creating something new from her finds.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Owens, Sr. and Mavis Batchelor Owens Amerson and stepfather, Paul Amerson.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Michael Hughes of Grandin, FL, daughter, Susan Person (Griff) of Greensboro, NC, 3 siblings, fur babies, Moe and Annie as well as 5 granimals.
