Raymond Eugene “Gene” Elkin, 85, of Plantation Bay, passed from this life on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home following a short illness. A native of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Gene graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with his Bachelor of Science Degree in chemical engineering. He worked 40 years as a Superintendent with U.S. Steel. In 1995, following his tenure with U.S. Steel, Gene retired to golfing at Plantation Bay where he became a member of the “Young Man’s Golf Group” founded by Dave Young. In addition to his love of golf, Gene was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Gene is survived by his loving companion of 23 years, Janet Scott, his children, Lisa Antonucci (Lou) of London Dairy, NH, Keith Elkin of Manchester, NH and Byon Wade (Jennifer Schmid) of Ormond Beach and their children, Kaiah Wade, Kaydence Wade and Max Blintz, a sister, Patricia Raley (Bill Pruneski) of Plantation Bay, 2 grandchildren, Brian Antonucci (Crystal) of Nashua, NH and Jason Antonucci (Michiko) of Aubrey, TX and 2 great-grandchildren, Kendall Antonucci and Akira Antonucci.
In keeping with Gene’s wishes, no services are scheduled.
