Obituary for Rebecca Jean Pope

Rebecca Jean Pope, 90, of St. Augustine, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2020 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in St. Augustine. Becky was born in Colleton County, South Carolina and moved to Palatka in the early 1930’s. She was a 1947 graduate of Mellon High School and years ago had worked at Mar-Twins in downtown Palatka. Becky had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a member of St. Augustine Shores Methodist Church. Becky was a very good cook and an accomplished seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Pope, a son, Bobby Pope, a brother, Duncan Breland, a sister, Ann Harper and a granddaughter, Ashley Lineberger.
Becky is survived by a son, Steve Pope (Meri) of Palatka, 2 brothers, Ben Breland, Jr. (Claudia) of Virginia Bch, VA and David Breland (Marilyn) of Paso Robles, CA, a sister-in-law, Elissa Breland of Jacksonville, 2 grandchildren, Trey Pope and Melissa Chatterton (Dave) and 6 great-grandchildren, Lake Lineberger, Ella Claire Lineberger, Logan Lineberger, Evan Chatterton, Jocelyn Chatterton and Avery Pope.
Graveside services celebrating Becky’s life will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Palatka Memorial Gardens with Bro. Murray Moore officiating. No public visitation is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Alzheimer’s Treatment and Research Center, Ramsey Foundation, 640 Jackson Street, St. Paul, MN 55101-9021
