Obituary for Richard William "Richie" Driggers

Richard William “Richie” Driggers, 68, of Palatka, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his home following an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, Richie served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in the Chip Mill division following over 40 years of service. In his leisure time, Richie enjoyed fishing, hunting and searching for artifacts.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Dawn Driggers , father, Wyatt Driggers and a sister, Donna Wilson.
Richie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherry Bohannon Driggers of Palatka, a son, Brad Driggers (Sierra Huff) of St. Augustine, 2 daughters, Brandy Posey (Chris Leary) of East Palatka, Candace Hope Driggers of Crescent City, mother, Janet Driggers of Palatka , 3 sisters, Darlene Sweat (Jerry) of Bardin, Kathy Siemiatkoski (Robert) of Palatka and Gail Smith (George) of Hollister, a brother, David Driggers (Shelley Thompson) of St. Augustine, 6 grandchildren, Kalei Johns, Paris Posey, Camden Posey, Kylie Driggers, Bailee Driggers and Breeley Driggers and 1 great-grandchild, Jude Johns.
Services celebrating Richie’s life will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Ricky Bybee officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00 A.M.
