Rita T. Gladu, 90, of Palatka, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Putnam Community Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born, July 21, 1930 in Springfield, MA and resided in South Hadley, MA for most of her life. She moved to Palatka to reside with family in 2018. During her life, she worked as a secretary for Gladu Trucking Company and South Hadley School District.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ubaldo Marchesseault, mother, Blanche Pauquette Marchesseault, brother, Raymond Marchesseault and husband of 58 years, Alexander C. Gladu.
She is survived by her siblings, Irene Marchesseault and husband Jean Claude Leclerc, and Blanche Marchesseault and companion Rock Potvin, all of Quebec, Canada. She had three children, Robert Gladu (Barbara) of Palatka, FL, Carol Kostek (Tony) of Hadley, MA and Linda Racicot (Ed) of Palm Coast, FL. Rita is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Lisa Richardson, Matt Gladu (Christina), Alyssa Schnabel (Michael), Sara Sweetser (Joel), Hayley Racicot, Seth Kostek, and Tekla Kostek (Mark Summa) as well as 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be determined at a later date at the convenience of the family.
