Robert Charles Stapp, 84, of Palatka, passed from this life on Friday, June 23, 2023 at HCA Florida North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. A native of El Reno, Oklahoma, he resided in Palatka since 1972 coming from Hollywood, Florida. Robert had worked with the Putnam County Road Department. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed shooting pool, model airplanes and boats as well as scuba diving.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail Stapp, a son, Gerald “Catfish” Stapp (Laura), a daughter, Debra L. Stapp, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Susan Hoffman and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 26, 2023 from 10-11 A.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Palatka Memorial Gardens with Pastor Willie B. McKinnon, Jr. officiating.
